WCPS support personnel keep up bargaining fight

Scores of support personnel and their advocates packed Tuesday night's meeting of the Washington County Board of Education, letting board members know they wanted the right to negotiate hours and wages despite a recent ruling denying their request to force the board to negotiate. Washington County Educational Support Personnel Inc. filed the request earlier this year with the Maryland Public School Labor Relations Board, but the petition was denied May 2. WCESP is appealing that decision. "At this point in time, we're at a difficult crossroads," WCESP President Anne Marie Hines told school board members.
